Mornings are the best time to eat anjeer. However, you can munch on them throughout the day, as they are nutritious and provide energy to the body.

2. How should we eat Anjeer?

Soak 1-2 anjeer overnight in half a cup of water. Eat it on an empty stomach in the morning.

3. How do I make Anjeer halwa (dried figs dessert)?

Here is a simple and quick way to make dried figs (anjeer) halwa - a healthy and delicious dessert. The ingredients needed for this include:

  • Anjeer (dried figs) - 200 gm
  • Milk powder - ½ cup
  • Ghee (clarified butter) - 3 tablespoons
  • Sugar or jaggery powder - 3-4 tablespoons
  • Almonds (coarsely grounded) - ½ cup
  • Cardamom powder - ¼ teaspoon
  • Sliced almonds for garnishing

  • Boil water in a pot and add anjeer to it.Cook it for 5-6 minutes.
  • Drain and puree the Anjeer in a grinder or food processor.
  • Next, in a heavy-bottomed pan, add ghee, coarse almonds and sauté it for 2 minutes.
  • Now, add pureed Anjeer, milk powder, sugar or jaggery and water to it. Keep stirring the mixture over a medium flame for 5-6 minutes until the sugar dissolves. Lastly, add cardamom powder and mix it well.

Let it cool down for a bit, and then serve it with a garnishing of sliced almonds.
